Conclusion Questions
- How did the time period from which your feature was most prevalent influence the feature?- Because of the Wests large spaces and lack of central heating and air-conditioning, this caused the houses to be built largely and with large windows and doors for proper airing. The curved roof-tiles are for the large amounts of rain in the area. Oriental architecture also favors symmetry across all features and has specific emphasis on horizontal features.
- How did the feature you modeled meet a human need?-
- Describe the use of the principle of design best represented in the architecture of your model- Symmetry is one of the most prominent features in my design.
- Experience- This project presented many problems, mostly with measuring and cutting out materials and individually gluing the straws to the roof of the house. Also, finding a way to put the second story on the house while using less materials was also challenging.
