Reflection
During the past few days we have been learning about different electrical components and their properties. We have also been learning proper safety techniques, circuitry, and how to solder circuit boards. Our main end goal was to create a functional Random Number Generator. (RNG) We had to compile our components to ensure that we had all of our materials and then begin the soldering process. Getting used to soldering was a challenging process but I believe that I got a hand of it by the second day. Making sure that components were facing the correct way was a precaution that we had to make for some components. Also burning myself was another problem I had. At first I always applied too much solder to my board but I corrected my mistakes during the project. Also when I had thought I finished my project I realized some of my components did not work so I had to fix the errors with teacher assistance. I eventually completed my RNG and then did my 100 rolls which are shown above.
Conclusion Questions
- How evenly distributed were the numbers for your Random Number Generator? If your game was perfect, then each number should have come up approximately 16.67% of the time. Do you think your Random Number Generator is fair? Why or why not- My numbers were somewhat distributed. The number generator is fair because it is based on random chance.
- Debug- the process of identifying and removing errors from computer hardware or software. The word came from Admiral Grace Hopper in the 1940s. While she was working on a Mark II computer at Harvard University, her associates discovered a moth stuck in a relay and thereby impeding operation, whereupon she remarked that they were "debugging" the system.
